Weeks 3 & 4

In all honesty, I was so busy last week with school and midterms that I don't remember ANYTHING from week 3... so I apologize for not being able to update on week 3 but if I remember anything I'll add it later.

Week 4 was awesome. I was really exhausted and sore week 3 so my game wasn't quite at my normal level, but I came in this week feeling good due to actually getting SLEEP on thursday for once (I normally work 12-14 hours on thursdays at my other job). My favorite moment happened on saturday when this really nice group came in with a seeing eye dog and they let me take her and scare with her for a few minutes. It was the sweetest yellow lab named Iris and she was just so excited to play with the monsters. hehe. :-D Another highlight was scaring this asian couple that didn't speak english. The girl ended up running in circles around her husband to try to get away from me. She kept running around and around and around until I just decided I wasn't even gonna try to scare her anymore.... I'm just gonna keep following her around... but doing the mexican hat dance with her husband acting as the sombrero! It was great and I was wildly amused. :-D

Sunday was Mummy's night and we did monster of the week, mummy flower presentation & dedications, and a special sliding demonstration complete with light up air strip. haha. It was great. My mummy and grandmummy came and had a great time. My grandma loves watching me scare and my mom could not stop laughing at Jebus & Psycho's police car bit. I even got my grandma and mom on Sierra Sidewinder! Of course now my grandma wants to kick my ass *snicker* :-D

All in all, it's been a great few weeks. I've grown a lot closer to the people in my area and have even made some new friends at haunt. Haunt is family... period.

1st Week Recap- 2007

I know I just posted about 5 minutes ago, but I just realized that I haven't really talked about how the weekend went except for the first day.

I am LOVING Haunt this year! Someone once told me that for every bad haunt year you have, you are guaranteed a good one. Well, my first year was good, my next two were kinda crappy, so I guess this year is making up for the last two years because I am having SO MUCH FUN! Now I see why people like MonStar, Dusty, Beast and Spazz (etc. etc) come back year after year. They come back for the good years! I guess you just need to pull through the bad years because when you get a good year, every rude guest, every piece of haunt drama, every ache and pain and difficult time melts away until you can't even remember why you even thought about not coming back. This year I am in such a great mind set. My mood has been so positive and I'm really happy to be there. My two bad years kind of put me into a funk that made me really shy and want to hide in my shell all the time when it came to socializing with everyone, but I think I'm starting to come out of it. I don't feel insecure about my place at Haunt, I feel liked and respected, and I feel like I'm becoming the monster I was meant to be. I'm confident in my scaring, I'm loving my character, and I feel at home.

CS has been a really awesome place to work and I love the new rookies to death. They are so much fun to scare with. I've been scaring on my own a lot but occassionally I found myself scaring with bastard (not a rookie but a great scare partner!), cari, slinky/bojo/whitedevil/chupacabra/whatever, and mclovin. They're a really fun bunch to work with and we all seem to have great team work skills. You know you have a good scare partner when you can play off each other and be willing to play the distraction and let the other person get the scare. If you can trade off like that instead of stealing scares, you're working with someone really great. AAAAND it definitely feels nice not to have to go through rookie initiations again... so I can emphathize with them. teehee ;-)

All in all, I really hope the rest of the run continues to go this great... because if it does, I am in it for life! :-D

Reckless abandonment

So it is wednesday and I just got out of class. I'm eating some dinner before I go to starbucks to do some studying for math class tomorrow. Then I looked at the clock and realized "it's 4:45 and all my friends are at haunt right now!" *sniffle* I feel so alone and abandoned!!! *sobs* I WANNA BE AT HAUNT! :'( I feel like that kid in "Home Alone" when his famiy goes on vacation and leaves him behind. JERKS! Psh... having fun without me! *sigh* But school has to come first... this I know. It still doesn't change the fact that I'd rather be scaring!
